Did you know that the waters around Cape Cod and the Azores—an island group in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean—are connected in more ways than one?
Register for the Alliance’s free educational webinar series – and join us for a fascinating look at the shared marine life and history between southeastern Massachusetts and the Azores. Our guest speaker, Robert Rocha, Associate Curator of Science and Research at the New Bedford Whaling Museum, will guide us through old whaling logbooks to uncover what sailors saw on their journeys from New Bedford, through Nantucket Sound, and across the ocean to the Azores.
You'll learn how whales, dolphins, and other sea creatures link these distant places—and how the people, history, and culture of the region are deeply connected too.
