Stargazing & Sips at Loines Observatory
Join the Maria Mitchell Association, in conjunction with the Nantucket Wine & Food Festival, for an unforgettable evening of stargazing at the Loines Observatory. Sip on Taylor Fladgate cocktails, rosé wine, and other indulgent treats as the stars take over for the night.
MMA Astronomer, Dr. Geoffrey Clayton, will guide you through the constellations and invite you to peer at distant celestial bodies, through the antique 8" Alvan Clark telescope and the 24" Cassegran research telescope. Learn more about the constellations, phases of the moon, the planets, and Nantucket’s night sky.
Transportation is available upon request and departs from the Nantucket Hotel. For more information please call the MMA at 508-228-9198.
Tickets are non-refundable. In the event of inclement weather, the rain date for this event will be Saturday May 17, 2025.
This program is appropriate for adults. Pre-registration is recommended as there is an event capacity. Walk-ins are welcome subject to availability.

Cancellation and Refund Policy: Please note the ticket price is considered a donation to the MMA. In the event of a complete event or program cancellation due to inclement weather, tickets will not be refunded and $100 will constitute a tax-deductible donation to the MMA.
