Weave an Eternal Wave: Macramé Bracelet Workshop

Weave an Eternal Wave: Macramé Bracelet Workshop

Join us at the Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum on March 9 for an evening of crafts, refreshments, and community as we learn the art of macramé in collaboration with the Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN).

Macramé is a form of textile that is produced using various types of knots combined in an infinite number of ways to create both functional and aesthetic pieces. Macramé originated from 13th-century Arabic weaving traditions, where artisans used knots to finish the loose ends of textiles. Sailors spread the craft globally, using their spare time on long voyages to create knotted items, such as nets, hammocks and belts, to sell or trade in port.

Using repetitive knots, participants will create their own 'Eternal Wave' bracelet to take home.

This is a highly anticipated program - our 2026 collaboration with AAN SOLD OUT. Register today!
