Event: 49th Nantucket Daffodil Festival

Date & Time: Saturday, April 26th | 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM (or until cars are parked)

Pay: $200 per person

Location: Siasconset, Nantucket

Description:

The Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce is seeking responsible, energetic individuals to join the Crowd Control Crew for the Siasconset Community Picnic during the 49th Nantucket Daffodil Festival.

Your primary role will be to ensure a smooth and safe experience for all participants by managing foot traffic and maintaining separation between the Tailgate Picnic and Traditional Picnic zones.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and maintain the boundary between the Tailgate and Traditional Picnic areas

Ensure that only Tailgate participants (and those with pre-delivered items like coolers and parade supplies) are allowed into the Tailgate section

Hold a safe, visible line as antique vehicles approach Sconset and begin parking

Keep pedestrians and picnickers on the Traditional side to allow for vehicle staging and parking

Use provided equipment—yellow safety vests, walkie-talkies, and megaphones—to help manage crowd flow and communication

Requirements:

Must be 18 years or older

Must attend a brief pre-event orientation at the Chamber office (date/time TBA) to review:

• Parking and crowd control protocols

• Safety expectations

• Your assigned location and shift responsibilities

• A detailed event/parking map

Compensation & Perks:

$200 flat rate per person

Includes attendance at orientation and event-day duties

Light refreshments and water will be provided during your shift
