Located at 62 Main Street, Murray's Toggery Shop was founded and purchased by Philip Murray in 1945, and the business is now run by multi-generational family members. It is one of the island's longest-running businesses. The store is famous for introducing Nantucket Reds™ in the 1960s. Created by Philip C. Murray, these signature red-canvas pants and shorts are designed to fade over time in the sun and salt water, inspired by the weathered sails of Brittany, France. Beyond the trademark Nantucket Reds Collection™ (pants, shorts, skirts, belts, aprons, bags, hats, and more), the store sells a wide selection of coastal and classic apparel, footwear, and accessories for men, women, and children from various brands.
